Freelance Site Supervisor / General Foreman - Yeovil

Are you a General Foreman with Highways and Drainage experience?

We are currently recruiting for a Site Supervisor to join a leading contractor. They are part of a major highways framework and require an experienced General Foreman to join the team.

As General Foreman you will be required to:
Manage Maintenance Teams and other sub-contract works. Working together with the Site Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of maintenance works using directly employed labour and sub-contractors. You will implement manage and monitor health and safety, quality and performance. You will help programme works to ensure effective utilisation of resources and plant to meet agreed programmes and KPI.

Key Responsibilities:
General site supervision, including completion of records as required, this includes the day to day organising of labour
Ensuring full site SHE compliance and that all personnel adhere to safe working practices
Organising plant and calling off materials
Organising competent labour for the work
All Health and Safety issues on site, completion of paperwork for records
Corresponding with Client/Consultant/The Public and other colleagues to monitor progress and inform of problems
To ensure all works comply with relevant environmental legislation and that recycling takes place whenever possible
Participate in Emergency and Winter Maintenance duties within working hours and outside working hours.
Assisting, ensuring full compliance is met with the O License
Driving productivity improvements
Any other suitable duty requested of you.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive experience in highways maintenance
CSCS ideally Gold card or above
Commercial awareness
Must be able to Drive
Have reasonable written and numerical skills
To be a good communicator and to be able to pass on skills
To be a good self-organiser and organiser of others
To be assertive, diplomatic and patient
Self motivating and a good motivator of the labour force
