Job Description

Site Manager required for long term engagement in Oxford. Contract likely to extend over three years. All sites generally located around South Oxford. Typical project values range from £5-£20 Million. Essentially we are looking for;
• A strong and proven manager, one who leads from the front and communicates well on all levels
• Controlling most site base activities by the Management of multiple trade sub-contractors
• Organise and chair regular site progress meetings with sub-contractors to monitor progress, ensuring the Project Manager is updated on all progress and issues arising
• Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with current method statements and risk assessments
• Oversee the long term and short term programming, sequencing and supervision of works on site
• Management of subcontractors to ensure that they are working to their full potential and achieve a project of the highest standard, on time and safely
• Read and understand all relevant current drawings relating to their area of works and assess/advise on build-ability and product selection.
• Record and update weekly and monthly detailed progress reports record changes and issues for areas of responsibility
• Advise Project and Commercial Manager of any cost/program implications
• Establishes and monitors appropriate construction tasks, operating procedures and systems
• Ensures all statutory undertakings are obtained and monitor
• Prepare handover schedules and ensure any outstanding defects are rectified
• Internally work closely with site teams to ensure coordination of works whilst remaining relationship focused; understanding the importance of developing key client, trade and subcontractor relationships whilst providing practical solutions to complex problems
• Solution orientated; Strong turnkey fit out experience with the ability to overcome unforeseen site issues
• Plan and manage work activities to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
• Communicate and collaborate closely with supply chains, private consultants, engineers and surveyors
• Monitor weekly programmes and remain financially aware with the ability to control all commercial aspects of each project along with reviewing additional work costs and instructions against contract works
