Job Description

I am looking for a Health & safety candidate to join my client on a perm basis as a SHEQ Administrator. This is a real opportunity for an up and coming health and safety professional to make a difference for a company striving to be a market leader in their sector. Reporting directly to the SHEQ Manager, you will be supporting the HSE team and general workforce to continually improve health and safety.

My client is one of the most well-regarded surfacing specialists in the UK, Operating sectors include build, MOD, civils and aviation. This is a perfect opportunity for an up-and-coming safety professional to gain experience and exposure in a high-risk recession-proof sector. This role is based in Derbyshire.


Responsibilities:
Arranging safety critical medicals for new and existing employees and managing the referral
process.
Provide support to the Health and Safety department.
Provide training, first aid box checks and promote safety awareness in the work place.
Conduct Health and Safety inductions for new employees and subcontractors.
Assist with emergency, accident and near-miss investigations.
Conduct regular subcontractor compliance reviews.
Ensure that safety and personal protective equipment is being used as per manufacturers instructions.
Conduct site inspections as necessary.

Requirements:
An aspiration to pursue a career in Health & Safety
An H&S qualification (desirable)
Experience with Health and Safety metrics.
Understanding and awareness of the application of health and safety in the construction/building services industry.
Good knowledge of Health and Safety basic regulatory and legal framework.
Good knowledge of the Health and Safety hazards faced in industry.
Excellent listening, negotiating and presentation skills.
Strong IT skills particularly Microsoft Office suite.
Report writing skills.
