Senior Risk & Legal Advisor

My Client is a Market Leader within the Construction sector with a turnover +£500m specialising in; Building, Civil Engineering and Rail and with continued success are currently recruiting for a Senior Risk and Legal Advisor in Buckingham. The role will support the Group Risk & Legal Manager, providing Commercial/Legal support and risk management advice to the Group’s Tendering and Contract teams while, whilst ensuring that all relevant Company Group & Sector Specific Procedures and Policies are met, in accordance with the Integrated Business Management System.

This role would suit a professional from a Commercial contracting background or with a established history of working within; Commercial Services Management, Sub-Contract Management, Claims Consultancy or Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.

Key responsibilities include:

Tendering.
Entering into Subcontracts.
Entering in to Contracts.
Securing Performance and other Bonds.
Entering into Professional Services Agreements and Call-Off contracts.
Supporting the resolution of disputes.
Ensuring Company Insurances are in place that match with Contract requirements.
Ensuring Supplier Insurances meet company requirements.
Supporting specific Insurance Claims.
Deputising for the Risk & Legal Manager as/when required.

Successful candidates will possess:

Experience within Corporate Legislative requirements.
Thorough understanding of General Company Processes.
Leadership Skills.
Strong Communication Skills.
Negotiating and
Adept at Coaching/Mentoring Junior Staff.
Commercial Management experience.
Understanding of Standard Forms of Contract, NEC, JCT etc.
Experience within Insurances, Bonds and Warranties
Work Prioritising and Time Management skills.
BIM Awareness.
Dispute Resolution.
Insurance Law.
Insurance Claim Handling.
Departmental Shadowing.
