Quantity Surveyor required for major residential groundworks schemes, for a leading groundworks contractor, based in Birmingham.
This groundwork contracting giant has over 30 years’ experience, with a reputation for providing the best civil engineering solutions to a variety of clients across the Midlands, including national award winning builders.
They undertake contracts ranging from £500k to £30m and carry out all aspects of site clearance, bulk excavation, earthworks, enabling works, foundations, deep drainage, service installation, road construction, road surfacing and paving works.
About the role:
You will support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the successful commercial and financial management of 3-5 projects from point of award through to final account.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships.
• Measurement and valuation of groundworks
• Preparation of monthly applications for payments for allocated projects
• Identification and pricing of variations to clients
• Negotiation and agreement of variations
• Preparation of subcontract tender enquiry documents
• Review of submitted tenders
To be considered for this position, candidates will ideally have a degree / HNC or equivalent in a Quantity Surveying.
It is essential that individuals have a strong background in groundwork schemes on residential projects and this experience must have been gained whilst working for a subcontractor.
