Project Manager (Joinery/Manufacturing)
Circa £40,000 p/a with Company car/car allowance, annual pay review and package
My Client is a National Design & Interior Contractor specialising in the Banking Retail, Commercial, Leisure and Retail sectors and with continued success are recruiting a Project Manager to deliver operations from their East Midlands offices.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Receiving the project brief from the Directors
Receiving the development appraisal and project time and cost parameters from the Directors.
Agreeing the in-house and external resources required for the delivery of the project.
Preparing an outline programme for the project to include;
o Initial cost planning
o Engagement of External Consultants
o Preparation of Design
o Preparation of Specification
o Site Visits
o Preparation of works packages
o Tendering of works packages
o Engagement of Contractors
o Finalising Cost Plan
o Start on site
o Overall site Programme
o Sectional handovers to Operations team
o Final Completion and open for trading
Agreement of the outline programme with the Directors
Review and agreement of the programme with the Construction Manager.
Liaison with in-house Lawyers to produce forms of Consultant Appointment and Warranties
Liaison with in-house Lawyers to produce forms of Main Contract / Management Contract / Trade Contract and Warranties
Completion of schedules of fees and services to Appointments
Completion of Appendices to the Appointments and Contracts
Preparation of Employers Requirements and collation of Contractors Proposals
Negotiation and agreement of Contract Terms with Consultants and Contractors.
Assisting the Purchasing Manager with preparation of Works orders to ensure they are technically correct and include sufficient specification, programme and prelims information to be robust in terms of defining the works.
Manage the in-house and external design to ensure design information is delivered in sufficient time to meet the needs of the Project Programme. This will include;
o Preparation of the works package
o Tendering of the works package
o Adjudication of the tenders
o Placing of the order
o Delivery to site
o Installation on site
Preparation of the detailed Cost Plan.
Agreement of the Cost Plan with the Directors.
Review and Agreement of the Cost Plan with the Construction Manager.
Liaison with the Accounts dept to load the Cost Plan to the Accounting System.
Update the Cost plan as orders are issued and as variations are agreed.
Liaise with and provide technical information to the Banks fund monitor and organise site visits.
Liaise with the Banks Valuer and organise site visits.
Keep high level contact with the banks’ professionals as necessary throughout the project and report on progress.
Act as Line Manager for the Construction Manager and meet regularly (Office)
Report Monthly to the Board.
Successful candidates will hold valid CSCS, First Aid and SMSTS accreditation twinned with +10 years experience delivering turnkey solutions within Commercial or Retail Fit-Out/Manufacturing sectors.
