Kenton Black Finance have been approached by a respected and growing Company in the Carlisle area. This business are a brand leader and are expanding to meet the needs of their strong client base. They are therefore interviewing for a Payroll Manager to join their already experienced team. This is the perfect opportunity for a motivated and aspiring Payroll Manager looking for their next step in the finance industry.

Your New Role as the Payroll Manager:

As the Payroll Manager, you will have full accountability of payroll processing and reconciliation, dealing with all aspects of payroll from start to finish; i.e. calculating overtime, issuing tax forms, managing maternity/sickness, ensuring payment is made on time and distribution of payslips.
You will be responsible for managing the Head Office and Executive payroll to include references, 3rd party requests, payroll queries, manual cheques, over and under payments, tax office requests for information and any other associated duties. You shall liaise with Management Accounts to agree and reconcile HMRC payments, run 4 weekly payroll journals and period reports in line with agreed Finance deadlines for processing, and oversee the process for reconciling all payroll journals.
In addition, you will be responsible for running all year-end processes and reports in conjunction with Management Accounts, to ensure that all external payments are processed correctly and in line with specified deadlines. You will also be responsible for processing all BACS payments, overseeing the processing of all bonus payments in line with agreed rules and targets, and undertaking and managing all duties related to P11D processing, NIC car analysis, payments, dispensation and payments.
You will also manage the extract of relevant data from Time and Attendance system into the correct CSV format for import into the Payroll system, ensure that the Payroll system is regularly maintained and updated and manage the process for 4 weekly payroll deductions. Lastly you shall understand the Company Fleet and Benefits process, liaise with external/internal audit teams as appropriate to ensure that the correct processes and procedures are being consistently followed, and ensure that reports are completed on a timely basis, in line with agreed deadlines.

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:

To be considered, you must possess at least 2 years experience as a Payroll Manager. You will have experience in the following:- staff management, full accountability of payroll processing and reconciliation, dealing with all aspects of payroll from start to finish. You will have worked on computerised accounting systems and possess good MS Office skills including Excel. You will also have excellent communication skills, as you will be expected to communicate at several levels throughout the business as well as with suppliers on a daily basis via email and telephone. It is also essential that the candidate has high level attention to detail and can produce accurate documents in the minimum time frame possible.
