Company details and job overview:
A Carlisle based construction business with a turnover in the region of £25m are looking to strengthen their finance team by recruiting a Management Accountant. This is a newly created position due to growth, as a result of successfully winning a number of new contracts and frameworks.
As an investor in people, the business pride themselves on providing progression opportunities and it is expected that this position will develop into a more senior level position in the short-term. Similarly, a comprehensive CIMA/ACCA study package will be available if required for the successful candidate.
Your new role as Management Accountant:
As Management Accountant, you will work in a varied and hands on finance role, reporting to the Finance Manager and Directors. You will be responsible for the production of monthly management accounts including P&L reporting and balance sheet; processing and submitting VAT and CIS returns; overseeing credit control, purchase and sales ledger duties; and providing ad hoc analysis to senior management to aid effective decision making. There will be many areas to add value to the finance function and wider business as you will be a key player in a number of projects relating to process improvements and business growth plans.
Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:
To be considered, you will be established in a similar level role with good working knowledge of month end routine and management accounts production. Strong systems skills are required including MS Excel and experience of Sage 50 is desirable. Experience within a construction business isn’t essential but some knowledge of the sector is advantageous. You will be a strong communicator, confident in liaising at all levels throughout the business and externally.
