Company Details and Job Overview:
A dynamic, family owned business in Blackpool are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance function due to an internal promotion. Established for 100+ years, this business is very well recognised in the local area and in the sector in which they operate. After a very successful 12 months, turnover now reaches approximately £35m with further growth forecasted.
This is an ideal opportunity for a career driven CIMA/ACCA studier seeking a varied and hands on position which will complement their studies and offers much opportunity to add value to the finance function and wider business. Career progression will be available in line with succession planning and ongoing company growth and success.
Your New Role as Management Accountant:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work in a friendly team of 6-7 finance staff and your duties will include:
• Preparation of the management accounts pack
• Posting accruals, prepayments and journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Stock reconciliations, investigating discrepancies
• Assist the FC with the production of budgets and forecasts
• Support in the year end accounting process
• Liaising with Department Heads to deliver and advise on key financial information, helping them manage their budgets
• Supporting the Accounts Assistants, being involved in providing training to enable their development
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
To be considered, you must be actively studying CIMA/ACCA, committed to becoming qualified or be a finalist/fully qualified (a comprehensive study package will be offered including time off for study and exams as well as costs being covered). Strong Excel skills are essential including knowledge of pivot tables and VLookups as you will be required to work across various spreadsheets, handling and manipulating large and complex data sets. Knowledge of the Access Dimensions system is desirable but not essential. You will be a confident communicator as this role incorporates many business partnering elements and you will be a key player in various projects which require working cross-functionally with various non-finance staff.
