Commercial required for a leading civil and groundworks contractor for commercial groundwork schemes in the Midlands, based in Birmingham

These are a Midlands based Groundwork and Civil Engineering Contractor working both locally and nationally on packages ranging from £50K to £5M.

About the role:

You will support the Commercial Director in the successful commercial and financial management of 3-5 projects from point of award through to final account.

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships.

Managing quantity surveyors and suporting them where required and see they get the appropriate train where required, as well mapping out a career structure to gain promotion.

Role

Commercial management of commercial team of quantity surveyors, estimator and buyers.

• Measurement and valuation of groundworks
• Preparation of monthly applications for payments for allocated projects
• Identification and pricing of variations to clients
• Negotiation and agreement of variations
• Preparation of subcontract tender enquiry documents
• Review of submitted tenders
• Payment of subcontract accounts

Requirements

Commercial Manager, Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background with civil and groundworks company
Degree in a Quantity Surveying, ideally MRICS
It is essential that individuals have a strong background in commercial groundwork schemes and this experience must have been gained whilst working for a subcontractor.
As this is a permanent position, they are looking for an individual who can demonstrate stability of employment throughout their career.

Salary guideline would £80,000-100,000 per annum depending on knowledge and experience.
