Estimator required for this groundworks contractror based in Nottingham.

This is a small to medium sized family run business with extensive amount of experience, contacts and knowledge of the local area and industry.

Estimator

The primary role of an Estimator is to prepare and submit tenders for civil engineering projects from first principles within specified time constraints and to liaise with our Procurement, Commercial and Production Departments in the effective management of the bid process and successful delivery of the project.

Responsibilities

Work with the Pre-construction team to submit an accurate and comprehensive quotation for each tender.
Liaise with the client during tender stage to optimise the opportunity of securing each contract.
Work effectively with the procurement department to ensure that each tender is based on accurate prices.
Ensure that the site Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager fully understand each secured tender before works commence on site.
Continually seek new clients.
Ensure management procedures are complied with at all times.

Outputs
Present tenders in a standardised format that can be utilised effectively by the Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager.
Maintain an up to date set of standard rates to be used by the business as a guide.
Maintain the Tender Register.
Ensure that the risks involved in each tender are adequately covered in the Qualifications.
Produce a bill of quantities for each tender to be used by the procurement department.
Prepare relevant information to complete the Pre-start Meeting Minutes.

Essential qualifications / experience

Essential experience in estimating, in residential and commercial groundworks.

£50,000-£55,000 plus package
