Job Description

Are you a driven Environment and Sustainability professional looking to join a reputable and exciting Construction company? A leading residential developer are looking for a Sustainability Manager to join their growing operation in the Berkshire/Oxfordshire region. Their many years’ experience in the industry give it an unrivalled ability to deliver new homes and communities and you will be have overall responsibility for delivering the group Sustainability model and bridging the gap from strategy to operational project delivery.

Reporting into the Technical Director you will be:

• Adopting a proactive approach to improving performance through engagement
• Developing new ways of driving sustainability performance and leading on initiatives within projects
• Keeping up to date with the sustainability agenda, new legislation and best practice guidelines and understanding how they may affect the company. This may include developing local approaches
• Preparing reports and attending meetings with management to discuss sustainability performance
• Working with project teams and liaising inter-departmentally to implement sustainability initiatives and innovative approaches
• Performing site visits to projects to assess compliance with the company environmental management system
• Preparing guidance to assist project teams in managing sustainability
• Reporting on sustainability performance

• A degree in a relevant subject (ESSENTIAL)
• Experience in an operational sustainability role within the Construction industry (ESSENTIAL)
• Knowledge of construction hazards/housebuilding and the implementation of Sustainability and Environmental initiatives in these environments
• A resilient, assertive and passionate attitude
• Confident communication skills
• Motivating, influencing and mentoring capabilities
