Design Manager – West Midlands- up to £70,000 + Package
My client is a highly successful Regional Construction Company that work from a number of regional offices. They are set to move over the £250M turnover mark this year and have an order book which is secured for the next 12 months. They work within a variety of sectors including Education, Health, Leisure, Industrial and Mixed Use. They work for a number of different clients but have been able to increase turnover year on year as the majority of their work is repeat business with clients they have worked with for years.
The West Midlands office currently has a turnover of approx £45M and they see this rising over the next couple of years. Currently they are looking to bolster their Design Team with the introduction of a Senior Design manager who has experience working for a tier 1 contractor.
•Manage and ensure effective briefing of the Design Team including M&E elements. This includes the management of any 3rd parties or novated design teams to ensure that they meet all customer specifications and where necessary, checking the competence and resources of any incumbent design teams or 3rd parties.
•Provide advice and guidance on the “buildability” of the design proposals to the design and construction teams on all packages.
•Liaise with all statutory bodies/authorities as required – such as town planning, building control and services e.g. gas and water.
•Support the Safety by Design & Engineering forum or other similar forums, representing the business stream, as required.
