Contracts Manager
£75,000-90,000 per annum plus package

Contracts Manager required for a major groundworks contractors, to manage multiple residential groundworks sites, throughout the Staffordshire and Shropshire, they are based in Staffordshire.


Full management and delivery of all allocated Contracts from Tender Handover through to Practical Completion.
Delivery of Contracts and in accordance with the Company Health & Safety Policy and project specific Health & Safety Plans.
Procuring sufficient and adequate supervision and ensuring labour levels of all site-based operatives, chosen in conjunction and with the approval of the Construction Director.
Resource levels to be set to attain successful delivery of the project in relation to product and commerciality.
Full appreciation to the cost and value of resources and ensure that both resource and works programmes meet the commercial objectives set out within the BoQ and any variation as might be agreed.
Setting a structure in place with the site Foreman, who reports directly to the Contracts Manager, to ensure all resource and works programmes are regularly set, agreed with the client, issued and achieved. The site Foreman is responsible for the day to day management of the site-based operatives.
Encourage open lines of communication and that responsibilities are clear, concise and consistent both with the Construction team and that of other areas of the business, in particularly relating to the Commercial team.
Proactive in helping and assisting on Commercial queries raised by the Commercial team relating to any of the allocated Contracts. It is of the utmost importance for the Contracts Manager to forge a strong team ethic with his own team and Commercial counterparts to ensure overall contract delivery meets the operational and commercial objectives.
This is a Senior Management position, it requires a proactive and determined approach to all aspects of work and to build relationships with Clients and Colleagues.


Relevant qualifications and certifications required for a Contracts Manager
Minimally 5 years’ experience of contracts management experience within a groundworks contractor
Extensive experience of managing multiple residential groundworks schemes including road and drainage

Salary will depend upon level of experience, number of sites capable of managing, and size and scale of previous sites managed on time within budget.
