Job Description

Civils/Rail Senior Quantity Surveyor
£55,000 p/a plus package including; Company car/allowance, generous holiday allowance, tax-free subsistence, pension and private healthcare
Norwich

My Client is a Market-leader within the Civil Engineering sector specialising in prestigious Highways, Rail and Water projects nationwide. With a growing order book of multi-million pound schemes they are actively recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their Commercial Division.

Working on the internal modification of Rail Depot in Norwich candidates will be responsible for:

Controlling of commercial matters on a number of projects, including production of cash flow and forecasting.
Procurement, selection and management of Subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
Completion of monthly valuations submitting applications as required by the Company/Contract requirements.
Valuation of variations, preparation and submission of quotations/compensation events as required.
Monitoring of the contract programme identifying/raising early warnings/potential variations/quotations.
Liaising with the Client/Client’s representative on commercial issues.
Carrying out internal cost value management of projects producing monthly project management reports for review with Senior Management.

Candidates will possess:

BSc Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
+ 5 years Post Graduate experience in Civil Engineering (ideally for a Main Contractor)
IT proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project and Word), Conquest or similar Estimating Packages
Experience in NEC3, JCT and ICE Forms of Contract.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence people at all levels.
Confidence at working autonomously.
An attention to detail
Strong leadership style.
Good problem-solving skills and creative flair.
