Civils Senior Quantity Surveyor
Up to £65,000 p/a with package including; generous holiday allowance, pension, healthcare and Company car/allowance.

My Client is a market-leader within the Civil Engineering sector with a +£600m turnover working nationwide on Civil Engineering schemes including; Infrastructure Works, Highways, Structures, Water and Rail valued up to £50m. With a number of key HS2 contracts secured they are now actively recruiting for a Civils Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their Commercial Division in the West Midlands.

Successful candidates will be tasked with Commercial Management of multiple Midlands-based contracts valued between £6m - £50m, report to the Commercial Director and managing a team consisting of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor.

Key responsibilities include:

Controlling of commercial matters on a number of projects, including production of cash flow and forecasting.
Procurement, selection and management of Subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
Completion of monthly valuations submitting applications as required by the Company/Contract requirements.
Valuation of variations, preparation and submission of quotations/compensation events as required.
Monitoring of the contract programme identifying/raising early warnings/potential variations/quotations.
Liaising with the Client/Client’s representative on commercial issues.
Carrying out internal cost value management of projects producing monthly project management reports for review with Senior Management.

Candidates will possess:

BSc Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
+ 5 years Post Graduate experience in Civil Engineering (ideally for a Main Contractor)
IT proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project and Word), Conquest or similar Estimating Packages
Experience in NEC3, JCT and ICE Forms of Contract.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence people at all levels.
Confidence at working autonomously.
Strong leadership style.
Good problem-solving skills and creative flair.
