Job Description

Civils Senior Quantity Surveyor
£70,000 p/a with package including; generous holiday allowance, healthcare, incentive scheme (based on Company profit), pension and Company car/allowance
Leicester

My Client is an established Regional Contractor specialising in; Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Works, Public Realm, Highways and Structures schemes across East Anglia/East Midlands. With continued success across both regions they are actively looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their Commercial Division in Leicester.

Working on projects valued up to £8m and reporting into the Commercial Director responsibilities include:

Controlling of commercial matters on a number of projects, including production of cash flow and forecasting.
Procurement, selection and management of Subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
Completion of monthly valuations submitting applications as required by the Company/Contract requirements.
Valuation of variations, preparation and submission of quotations/compensation events as required.
Monitoring of the contract programme identifying/raising early warnings/potential variations/quotations.
Liaising with the Client/Client’s representative on commercial issues.
Carrying out internal cost value management of projects producing monthly project management reports for review with Senior Management.

Candidates will possess:

BSc Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
+ 8 years Post Graduate experience in Civil Engineering (ideally for a Regional Contractor)
IT proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project and Word), Conquest or similar Estimating Packages
Experience in NEC3, JCT and ICE Forms of Contract.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence people at all levels.
Confidence at working autonomously.
Strong leadership style.
Good problem-solving skills and creative flair.
