A family owned construction Group near Penrith are seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their finance team on a permanent basis. Operating within various sectors across the UK, the business employs 50+ staff and are continually growing both organically and through acquisition.
Your New Role as Assistant Financial Controller:
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will enjoy a varied and hands on role with specific duties including:
• Assisting the FC in the production of monthly management accounts
• Supporting with the production of budgets and forecasts
• Posting accruals, prepayments and journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations and factoring accounts
• Monthly and quarterly VAT returns
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register
Whilst there are transactional finance staff who take responsibility for credit control, payroll, purchase and sales ledger duties, you will be required to support as required with these tasks also.
Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply:
To be considered for this position, you will be proven in a similar level finance role with good exposure to month end processes and ideally hold a part or full finance qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACCA). Knowledge of construction and CIS is desirable and you will be a quick learner with the ability to adapt well to new systems and processes. Strong IT skills are required including MS Excel and working knowledge of Sage 50 is advantageous.

This is an office based role, but some flexibility around working remotely 1-2 days per week may be considered for the successful candidate.
