Kenton Black Finance have partnered one of the UK’s largest education and training providers who have several sites based across the north. This role for Assistant Accountant will report directly to the head of finance and will form the final piece of the jigsaw to establish the small finance function based on this site. A 12 month Fixed Term contact there is scope for this to also become a permanent role. Based within easy commute from the M65, the offices boast on-site parking and the organisation also offer a raft of benefits.
Your new role as Assistant Accountant:
As Assistant Accountant you shall support the Head of Finance in a rounded, versatile finance role. Providing an effective finance support service to the wider organisation you shall be responsible for a variety of tasks in a rewarding and trusted organisation.
Main Role Duties:
· Review monthly management accounts ensuring accuracy is maintained in line with the monthly deadlines
· Preparation of month end journals
· Balance sheet reconciliation
· Ledgers management across the month
· Communicating with group to form a solid working relationship with the transactional team at Group
· Support to Budget Holders across monthly finance meetings
· Assist with budget and forecasting processes, providing analysis as required
· Accurate completion of financial transactions to ensure a clear audit trail
· Preparation of financial analysis to monitor KPI’s set across the business
· Assist the year-end audit process, answering queries on ledger postings and financial transactions where required.

Experience & Qualifications Required to apply:
To be considered for this role you shall hold, or be actively studying a professional accounting qualification CIMA/ACA/ACCA/AAT. With experience of working in a finance position you shall have experience of working as part of a team with the ability to maintain positive working relationships. You shall have worked in a similar role and be rehearsed in the budget process in a customer driven environment.
