I think this is true. Whether someone has a £200k budget or a £10m budget. You'll never be involved in something more personal than designing someone's forever home.

Nothing will ever be standardised, you have to detail everything anew, you have to have a special relationship with the client that just isn't replicated when you're churning out retail or commercial or healthcare or any other sector.

It's hard work, but I bet more Architectural Professionals went into the industry wanting nothing more than to design houses than any other sector.

Problem is I'd estimate around 10% of Architectural professionals spend their days working on one off houses and 50% never touch any kind of resi project, not even once in their career.

Here's your chance to either move into it wholesale or get a better salary than most in this sector would even consider offering to a Mid Level Architectural Technologist with only a couple of years under their belt.

Sometimes you need to make a move to take a step up the ladder or work on the kind of projects that you chose the Architectural Industry to work on. A move for more responsibility, for more money, and for more progression in a business that only recruits individuals with 1 - 2 years post qualification experience and moves them up the ladder quickly.

In this practice they have 12 staff. They need you in at the deep end, they'll need you to do more than you would in most businesses. The support is there and the progression and reward is there. It's hard work and you'll need the love for designing one off large homes in order to make the most out of this opportunity.

AutoCAD experience is great, ArchiCAD experience is helpful.
