Last minute labourers needed for work during busy festive season
The client is a market leading office fit out and refurbishment company offering bespoke office design and fit out solutions. A regular client of Kenton Black’s trades and labour sector (KB Trades), who have supplied long lasting freelance trade and labour jobs to the client for several years.
The client needed 5 weekend labourers in Portsmouth, the weekend before Christmas. The job was called in at 3:30pm on a Friday afternoon, with the workers needed for the next day. The project was especially tough as Portsmouth can be a notoriously difficult area to fill, particularly at short notice for a weekend in the weeks before Christmas but KB Trades readily accepted the challenge.
KB Trades strategy for this project, was to source known candidates where possible, and to scrutinise references in order to ensure reliability, as they would need to sacrifice their weekend during the festive season.
KB Trades utilised the Kenton Black in house system to find suitable candidates, as well as texting out the information for the job. The jobs were also advertised across all job boards and social media. Responses were slow and time was running out, but KB Trades persisted with the search until eventually, 5 candidates were sourced for the job.
Following full reference and compliancy checks, KB Trades contacted the client at 4:10pm.
With all five candidates’ ready to go, the client was assured that each had good records with strong recommendations and references.
Extremely positive feedback regarding the five workers supplied from the client.
Although the workers were initially only needed for two days, they have since continued to work on jobs for the client on various sites and projects.
After building and maintaining a strong relationship with the client over many years, KB Trades work with the client on a weekly basis, sourcing candidates for ongoing projects throughout the year.
